IDOL - Creating Image Groups and Presentations in Luna Insight
|
If you want to use IDOL images in web pages and presentations, you must first create a group. Groups within Insight are tools for organizing content. Groups can be created on the fly and allow the user to select specific images from a collection for use later. End users often create groups to organize images around a specific theme, concept or alternately around a specific need – for example, a group of images with a common subject , or a group of images for an upcoming presentation. Once a group is created it behaves like a collection. A group can be searched and sorted, have its thumbnail labels changed. Most importantly, presentations can be created from its contents. A saved group may be viewed in Insight later and used to create an Insight presentation. Insight presentations may be exported to HTML or PowerPoint. Log in to Insight and Select one or more collections. Group Workspace (the workspace for searching) opens between the Menu on the left and the Selected Collections Thumbnails on the right. To Create an Image Group With the selected collection window ACTIVE (when window is ACTIVE title of collection is highlighted) select Search>By Keywords and enter terms. Selected collection will usually be the IDOL Teaching Collection . 2. Search thumbnails and select images of interest with single mouse click. 3. Select File>New Group. (or Open Group to open an existing group>navigate to group of choice) The New Group opens in center left of the Collection window. 4. Drag and Drop selected images from Collections window to New Group window in center. 5. Select File>Save Group As, assign file name and folder location for group. To Create an Insight Presentation 1. Using Image Workspace tool bar on right, click on Zoom button, then click anywhere on the image once, use Pan tool at the bottom of the tool bar to move to detail of choice 7. To show two images side by side, highlight the first image in the Presentation Editor and click on the link button at the bottom of the Presentation Editor to bring up that image and the one that follows it in the presentation. You must use the Move arrow to arrange them as you would like them to be viewed. 8. Highlight and use the Cut button at bottom of Presentation Editor to remove unwanted images. 9. Select Save and Close>Enter name for presentation 10. Return to Group Workspace, select File>Save Group to save apresentation in the group, blue icon is your presentation 11. Specify a destination folder and Insight will automatically provide a name for your PowerPoint file.
